On 8 March in Johannesburg and 29 March in Cape Town, the best local dance crews will compete for the opportunity to earn a spot in the prestigious InterContinental Dance & Battles Championship Finals, taking place in Cape Town in October 2025.

Johannesburg Qualifiers – 8 March
Venue: Blairgowrie Recreation Centre
Joburg’s top dance crews will put on their best performances in this high-energy showcase competition. The top six crews per section will advance to the InterContinental Dance Championship Finals in Cape Town, where they’ll join international talent for an epic competition.

Cape Town Qualifiers – 29 March
Venue: Camps Bay High
Cape Town’s qualifier will feature incredible performances, with the top six crews per section securing their place in the InterContinental Dance Championship Finals alongside global competitors.

The InterContinental Dance Championship Finals will take place from 10-12 October 2025 in Cape Town, where international crews will compete for top honours.

• 8-14 members
• Junior (7-12 years): 1:30 minutes
• Teen (13-18 years): 2 minutes
• Open (No age restriction): 2:30 minutes
• MiniCrew Division:
• 4-7 members (No age restriction): 1:30 minutes
• Legion Division:
• 15-40 members
• Open (No age restriction): 3 minutes
• Schools Division:
• 15-40 members (No age restriction): 3 minutes

Qualification for Battle Sections:

Due to tight timelines concerning passport processing, visa applications, flights, accommodation arrangements (especially for large groups), and other logistical requirements, as well as necessary fundraising initiatives, the Dubai Championship Organizers have announced that there will be no qualifiers for the 2025 event. Instead, the Top 3 crews from each section of the GDS 2024 Championship Finals will automatically advance to the WSB Dubai Championship Finals in July 2025.

This decision was made to accommodate the limited time between the March 2025 qualifiers and the event scheduled for July, leaving a short window for crews and their supporters to finalize their arrangements and logistics.

Dubai 2025 Finals

• Date: 7-12 July 2025
• Event Overview: The Top 3 performing dance crews from each section of the GDS 2024 Championship Finals will advance to the WSB Dubai Championship Finals, competing for the largest prize pool in hip hop and street dance history: US$250,000 (R4.5 million).
• International Representation: Crews from around the world will also compete at this prestigious event, with over 200 dancers representing South Africa.

• 11 October 2025 – Crew Championship Finals

• 12 October 2025 – Intercontinental Battles Finals
